The secondary bond market activity saw a modest increase over the week, with a 14.7% week-on-week rise in turnover to GH5.29 billion.

Liquidity remained concentrated in the February 2031 benchmark, which accounted for GH2.29 billion of total volumes.

Investors shifted their focus towards the middle of the yield curve, with 2031–2034 maturities making up 51.6% of traded volumes at a weighted average yield of 15.63%.

The 2027–2030 segment absorbed 41.2% of flows at a lower weighted-average yield of 14.70%.

The long end of the curve was largely inactive, with the 2035–2038 tenors accounting for just 7.1% of activity at a weighted-average yield of 15.92%.

Analysts expect market activity to pick up slightly ahead of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, driven by ongoing month-end portfolio rebalancing.
