Absa Named Top Employer 2026 in 6 African Markets

Absa has been recognised as a Top Employer for the fifth consecutive year by the Top Employers Institute (TEI), following an independent assessment of its people practices across six markets, including Ghana.

The bank achieved an overall group score of 93.66, with Ghana recording the highest overall score at 97.38, and Absa Bank Botswana delivering the largest year-on-year improvement of 5.53 percentage points.

Absa Group Chief Human Capital Officer, Jeanett Modise, stated that the recognition provides independent validation that the bank’s approach to human capital management is resonating with its people and being applied consistently across its markets.

Charles Russon, Group Executive for Africa Regions, expressed pride in Absa Ghana’s achievement as the number one Top Employer in its market, reflecting the bank’s leadership capability, culture, and investment in its people.

William Easmon, Human Capital Director for Absa Bank Ghana, highlighted the significance of the recognition, saying it reflects the trust, fairness, and clarity that employees experience at work every day.

The assessment also showed notable improvements in offboarding, diversity, equity, and inclusion, rewards and recognition, sustainability, and employer branding, with Absa achieving full scores of 100 in Business Strategy, Leadership, and Performance.
