Archbishop Charles Agyinasare is known throughout Ghana and internationally as a powerful and influential spiritual leader. But in a surprising revelation, the Founder and Prelate of Perez Dome Chapel International recently shared a detail about his early life that few would expect: his first visit to church occurred while he was under the influence of marijuana. The disclosure came during an exclusive interview with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning.

This is the story of Archbishop Agyinasare Salvation Story, a journey from a wayward youth to a spiritual leader, highlighting the transformative power of faith and an unexpected encounter that altered the course of his life.

Archbishop Agyinasare recounted being a private tutor when he was younger, which led him to a family with two daughters. His interest in both sisters set in motion a chain of events that would lead him to a life dedicated to ministry. “I was a private tutor doing extra classes for people. A family invited me to teach their daughter. When I got there, there were two sisters – and I liked both,” he explained.

His pursuit of one of the sisters led to an unexpected introduction. “When I made my move, one of them told me, ‘My boyfriend is Jesus, and I’d like to introduce you to Him.’ I thought she was joking. But I said, ‘If that’s all it takes for you to be my girlfriend, then I’ll go with you to church.’”

The Archbishop vividly remembers his state of mind during that initial church service. “That day, I was high on marijuana when I entered the church. I wore my ‘bola shirt’ and tight trousers and sat at the back, just waiting for the service to end so I could talk to the girl.” His intentions were far from spiritual; he was solely focused on his romantic interest.

However, something remarkable happened during the service in 1980. “The preacher made an altar call, and though I can’t remember what exactly he said, something happened to me.” This moment marked a profound shift in his life. The Archbishop believes this encounter brought an immediate transformation, breaking the chains of addiction that had held him. “That day, the power of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco broke off my life. From that day, I never went back to cigarettes.”

According to Archbishop Agyinasare, this transformation was an act of divine intervention, instantly severing years of addiction. He saw it as undeniable proof of a higher power at work in his life.

His father, however, met his newfound faith with skepticism. “My dad didn’t believe me. He said, ‘It’s because you’ve seen those young girls there,’” the Archbishop recalled, chuckling at the memory.

Despite his father’s doubts, Archbishop Agyinasare remained steadfast in his commitment. He also committed to purity until marriage. “And I’m glad to say that God has kept me. This year will be my 40 years in marriage and the only woman I’ve kissed in the 40 years is Vivian, my wife.”

Today, Archbishop Agyinasare focuses on educating and empowering young people. He desires to leave a legacy of positive change, guiding the next generation towards a brighter future. He wants his Archbishop Agyinasare Salvation Story to be an inspiration.

“He admonished the youth never to despise their humble beginnings, to see themselves as the future, and to trust that their latter end will be great.” He promotes a message of hope and self-belief, encouraging young people to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Archbishop Agyinasare’s journey, from his initial church visit while high on marijuana to his current role as a respected spiritual leader, is a testament to the transformative power of faith. His life story underscores the message that no one is beyond redemption and that even the most unexpected encounters can lead to profound change. His work is his legacy, including Archbishop Agyinasare Salvation Story, offering a message of hope for the youth and illustrating the journey from marijuana use to ministry.
