19-Year-Old Remanded on Three Charges in Court

Local News

Twenty‑nine‑year‑old Aaron Attah has been remanded into prison custody on three charges after pleading guilty to unlawful entry, attempted stealing and causing bodily harm.

The Asante Abuakwa Circuit Court in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality heard his plea on December twelve, with Justice Rosemond Dodua Agyiri presiding. Attah is scheduled to reappear before the same court on December eighteen.

Police Detective Inspector Alexander Agbekpornu told the court that the complainant, disc‑jockey Owusu Boakye Yiadom of Nketia, was on his way to work on December two at about 11 hours when he heard an unusual noise at his mother’s house.

“I became suspicious and approached the house,” Yiadom said, adding that he saw Attah trying to force open the main‑room door. He waited outside, watching the scene unfold.

According to the detective, Attah then descended from the ceiling in an attempt to flee. Yiadom rushed in to stop him, but the young man stabbed him in the right shoulder and stomach with a knife, causing profuse bleeding.

Attah fled the scene but was pursued by neighbours who helped capture him and hand him over to Asuofua police.

The victim was rushed to the Suntreso Government Hospital before being transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he remains under treatment.

The prosecution, in a caution statement, noted that Attah admitted to all three offences. After further investigations, the charges were formally filed and the case brought before the court.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns about property crimes and personal safety in the Atwima Nwabiagya area, prompting local authorities to urge residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity promptly.
